| Jack Williams Tire Brings Soap Box Derby Racing to the Wyoming Valley |
The 2nd Annual Wyoming Valley Soap Box Derby took place on Saturday June 18th. Thanks to the hard work of our dedicated committee, 19 children were able to participate in the car building process, and race the cars down the Market Street Bridge in Wilkes-Barre.
It was a great time, for a great cause. The committee donated the proceeds of the race to Wyoming Valley and Alcohol and Drug Services. $7,000 was given to the agency to support their youth intervention programs.
The winner of the 2005 derby was Shannon Brewer, of Kingston. She won an expense paid trip to compete in the National Finals in Akron, OH.

| Jack Williams "Herbie" Contest winners |
Jack Williams Tire and Auto Service Centers ran a Register to Win Contest from the end of June through the first week in August to support a summer sales promotion with Goodyear Tire Company. The purpose of the promotion was to increase awareness to the fact that the Beetle from the movie Herbie Fully loaded raced on goodyear tires. The Grand Prize was a 2-year lease on a brand new "Herbie Fully Loaded" 2005 Volkswagen Beetle GLS. Jack Williams Tire received over 2,000 entries from their 22 Pennsylvania locations. The lucky winner was Jack Novitski from Shavertown, PA.
The Novitski's didn't win just any car. The Beetle was decaled to look just like the car in the Walt Disney movie "Herbie Fully Loaded" that was released this summer. Plus, it was customized with a $5,000 performance package that included 19" Custom wheels, Goodyear Performance Tires, Eibach lowering kit, Thermal Exhaust System, and more. Congratulations to the Novitski's on winning the Volkswagen Beetle GLS.
